November 30th ~ Kindness
| The Holiday Season
is upon us and one of the important things to remember is to
be kind. The gift of kindness can be as simple as a smile or
a compliment. This quote by Robert
Brault , has really stuck in mind ever since I read it. He

November 26th ~ Thanks Giving
| Today, I'd like
to use this occasion to thank-you all for your support and friendship.
You have been there for me through thick and thin. You have praised
my accomplishments and consoled me in my setbacks. The benefit
of your friendship to me is beyond measure. I only hope that
I can continue to enliven your lives in some small way, and like
our president said, "encourage you to dream bigger
dreams for what we can still achieve." |

November 19th ~ Holiday Spirit
| The holiday season
is upon us and the preparations for them seem to come earlier
every year. I heard some of the major store chains started decorating
in August! Time seems to be speeding up so, I'm starting out
ahead of the game today. Ushering in this holiday season, I want
be one of the first to wish you all the best. Remember that perhaps
the best holiday decoration you can present, is to be wreathed
in smiles. |

| In any art, the
term composition means 'putting together'. It is the arrangement
of parts or elements using conscious thought. In the visual arts,
composition is dependent on various design elements such as shape,
line, direction, texture, color and value. |

can wander beyond the edge. It will make it seem part of a large

November 12th ~ Progress
| Talking with an
artist friend recently, the topic of career goals came up. I
told him that I was happy just to make steady progress. Of course,
it's all subjective. Progress to me, could be seen as going in
the wrong direction to some folks. The important thing, I think,
is to do the work, seek advice and direction when needed and
allow one project to lead you to the next. |

November 9th ~ Motivation
| Vince Poscente
summed up my reason for blogging in his quote; "Walking
your talk is a great way to motivate yourself. No one likes to
live a lie. Be honest with yourself, and you will find the motivation
to do what you advise others to do." Wow, I know this is
how my drawing everyday
blog started for sure. By giving words to my thoughts, I
am much more convicted to my path and therefore inclined to see
the task through. Thanks for helping me to keep on keeping on! |

November 5th ~ Pleasant Surprises
| Last week I got
an email from a designer, Marti Van Hoosen, who was working
with one of my microstock snowman images. She wrote; "I
am designing a CD cover for a client, and he purchased one of
your pictures to use for the cover. It's the little snowman giving
the birds a birdhouse.The CD features singers and songwriters
that work at The Bluebird Cafe (a popular venue here in Nashville
for singer/songwriters to perform), so I changed one of the cardinals
to a bluebird. I also changed another cardinal to a little
brown bird so the bluebird wouldn't feel alienated in a
sea of cardinals. He would like to credit you on
the insert, and I would like to know if that's ok with you -
and how you would like your name listed." Of course, I said
yes and was later emailed this image. I love what Marti did with
the image and wanted to share it with you today. |

November 2nd ~ Determination
| Those who are close
to me know that I have been going through some trying times with
my new photography career. I liken learning new computer programs
to stumbling around in a dimly lit room until the daylight finely
comes. Soon you find it's night again however and you are back
to banging into things. Many times in the past couple of weeks
I have felt the urge to quit. So, if any of you wonder why I
do this blog and my daily inspiration
for your day blog, it's to keep me going. I hope in
the process, I can bring some of you along! |
